Empowering people to create lasting impact in their communities—and beyond.
Democrify Foundation brings together educators, nonprofits, community leaders, and innovators to help people turn ideas into meaningful action. Our newest initiative, America 500, invites Americans to help shape the nation’s next 250 years, while Pittsburgh Journeys creates ongoing opportunities for collaboration close to home.
Independent voices. Greater possibilities together.
Democrify Foundation is proud to support Film Pittsburgh’s Three Rivers Film Festival. We will introduce If I Go Will They Miss Me on November 8 and join the Filmmaker Brunch on November 13 to explore how filmmakers can build on their work, reach audiences, and pursue shared ambitions.
By working collectively, independent filmmakers can compete more effectively with larger studios while keeping their individual voices.

What we’re building
Democrify Foundation exists to help people create meaningful change through education, collaboration, and responsible use of artificial intelligence.
Rather than focusing on a single issue, we build initiatives that help individuals, organizations, and communities work together toward shared goals. Each initiative explores a different challenge, but all share the same philosophy: empower people to discover opportunities, solve problems, and create lasting impact.
Where the work is moving now
America 500
As our newest featured initiative, America 500 invites Americans to imagine—and begin building—the nation’s next 250 years. Through six complementary lenses, participants explore ideas that can strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
Pittsburgh Journeys
Pittsburgh Journeys creates ongoing opportunities for people to learn from one another, discover collaborators, and transform ideas into action. America 500 is the first featured Journey, with many more to come.
It Takes a Global Village
This international initiative continues to move forward by helping teachers and students throughout all 54 nations of Africa harness the power of artificial intelligence to strengthen their schools, communities, and countries. Participants are encouraged to identify local challenges, pursue projects that matter to them, and share successful ideas with others across the continent.
By combining local leadership with emerging technologies, It Takes a Global Village empowers people to create solutions that reflect the unique needs and opportunities of their own communities.

Filmmakers Group
The Filmmakers Group is taking shape here in Pittsburgh and is open to independent filmmakers everywhere. Participants are invited to help develop the group around what they want to accomplish, from an existing film to a continuing collaboration across productions.
What could filmmakers develop together before individual projects take shape? Shared story worlds, complementary films, and audiences that carry from one production to another are possibilities to explore together. The aim is to help independent filmmakers compete more effectively with larger studios while keeping their individual voices. Participants’ goals and experience will help determine what is worth building and how it can work.
Other initiatives in the works
Additional initiatives are being developed in education, technology, civic innovation, storytelling, nonprofit collaboration, and international partnerships. As these efforts mature, they will become part of the growing Democrify ecosystem.
